Healthservice Council of Metropolitan Louisville

The Healthservice Council of Metropolitan Louisville (HCML), which is affiliated with KHA, consists of chief executive officers, chief operating officers, senior managers as well as executive directors of health care organizations from the Louisville Metropolitan area, including Southern Indiana. Primarily, HCML offers:

  • Educational programs;
  • Opportunities to network with local health care leaders;
  • The development of special projects that impact regional health care issues, such as raising the Louisville MSA Medicare wage index which brought an additional $8 million into Louisville, and forming the Nursing Workforce Workgroup to develop strategies for addressing current nursing shortages in the Louisville metropolitan area.

There are two categories of membership:

  • Institutional - hospitals and health care systems, including the corporate office of a health care system, located in the Louisville metropolitan area. Institutional members have voting privileges.
  • Associate - organizations or individuals interested in the purpose of the Council but not eligible for institutional membership. Associate members do not have voting privileges.
